Stanton's practice areas include business planning, estate planning, and criminal law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Federal Bar Association and prepared literature on estate planning and business planning.

Stanton received a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis on accounting from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to attending law school, he worked for the CPA firm Anderson & Whitney in Greeley, Colorado.

Stanton is an avid golfer, having played in high school and college.  He has been able to stay competitive, even though his free time is limited.  Besides work, he has recently married and loves the new adventures of having a family.
